Made some animations from stereoscopic glass plates showing Saint Lunaire in 1906. I found the plates at my dealer’s homepage and my first thought was that they would be in too bad condition for buying them. But my second thought was that dust and scratches are markings from more than 100 years of life. These fragile glass slides survived two world wars and maybe a lot of relocations. So they are able to tell more than stereoscopies in AAA+ condition. Sometimes it’s not just the surface and the actual motive that counts. So enjoy the time travel show.
Ich habe einige Animationen aus stereoskopischen Glasplatten gemacht, die Saint Lunaire im Jahr 1906 zeigen. Ich fand die Platten auf der Homepage meines Händlers und mein erster Gedanke war, dass sie in einem zu schlechten Zustand wären, um sie zu kaufen. Aber mein zweiter Gedanke war, dass Staub und Kratzer Spuren von mehr als 100 Jahren Lebenszeit sind. Diese zerbrechlichen Objektträger haben zwei Weltkriege und vielleicht viele Umzüge überlebt. Sie können also mehr erzählen als Stereoskopien im AAA+ Zustand. Manchmal zählt nicht nur die Oberfläche und das eigentliche Motiv. Also viel Spaß bei der Zeitreise-Show.
